The Natural History of Milford-on-Sea Parish - Book (1)
A message from Keith Metcalf about his first book on Milford on Sea wildlife:
"Just a short note to say thank you to everybody who purchased or received a copy of my first book on the wildlife of Milford-on-Sea parish.
As you may recall, I said that I would donate a small contribution to both Oakhaven Hospice and to Milford Conservation Volunteers for each book sold, plus from various additional sums given where recipients wished to make a personal donation to either, or both, of these wonderful causes.
I am therefore delighted to let you know that Oakhaven has acknowledged receipt of the £170 handed to them a couple of weeks ago and
I have also given £150 towards MCV conservation projects.
Thank you so much for making these contributions, which were gratefully received.
Keith Metcalf
PS: Look out for Book (2) late this year."

Milford Baptist Church restart live services
Milford Baptist Church is restarting live worship services again on Easter Sunday (4th April).
If the weather is nice we’ll be outside, in front of the church, otherwise we’ll gather inside – in either case the service starts at 10.30am as usual. We will of course still be wearing face coverings and maintain social distancing, but at least we will be gathering in person again.
We will also continue to livestream services for those who don’t feel ready to come to a live service just yet. For further info, please call (01590) 645469 or visit www.milfordonseabaptist.org.uk

Cliff Path being rebuilt
Many will be delighted to see that the Milford on Sea cliff path is currently being reinstated and the works are hoped to be completed by the Easter Weekend.
Parts of the of original cliff path were lost due to cliff erosion or became too close to the edge, and then the path was closed for the now completed sea wall repairs.
The path is now being moved further back and will once again restore the panoramic walk from the cliff top to Keyhaven and beyond.

WI support a Bag to Banish Plastic
Milford on Sea WI are supporting a new project; 'The Becton Bag Banishes Plastic' started by the local Rotary Club.
The project has been inspired by the damage that discarded plastic causes to our environment. Becton Rotary Club (which covers Milford on Sea) are working with New Forest Basics Bank (NFBB) to eliminate the use of plastic carrier bags currently used to deliver food items to those in need.
The plastic carrier bags are to be replaced with material bags (The Becton Bag) made to an agreed specification between Rotary members and NFBB; Lynn Peck, Volunteer Head of Operations at New Forest Basics Bank said “It will be a wonderful achievement and a boost to the environment if we can totally eliminate the use of plastic bags for our deliveries. The material bags will be reusable and when returned will undergo a process to confirm they are free from infection before being used again. We are grateful to the members of the Rotary Club of Becton & District and the volunteers who have agreed to sew the bags for the considerable support they have provided to this project”.
Becton Rotary is grateful for the support already pledged to the project by members of Milford on Sea WI, Brockenhurst & Sway Bag Groups and other volunteers.
Anyone wishing to either donate material or volunteer to sew the bags should contact:
bectonbag@bectonrotary.org.uk to receive further details.
