Autumn has lived in the village her whole life, having attended Milford on Sea Primary School, and her family certainly have strong Milford on Sea roots having been in the village for over 40 years.

She is now studying at Priestlands School, who are very supportive of her busy karate schedule, and ambitions.

Now sixteen years of age, her martial arts achievements in international Karate are already substantial, with Autumn currently world ranked at number 11 for under 18s.

Last year she finished world ranked number 3 in the under 16s.

In 2021, Autumn was called up for her first England Karate Kumite (fighting) squad.

Prior to this, she had won silver at the Belgium Open, before taking double bronze at the Wadokai European Championships in North Macedonia in her U18 weight category, this was whilst she was still only fifteen.

In 2022, she was a British silver medallist and also won the title of Central England International Champion, and Commonwealth Karate Gold in Birmingham.

Early in 2023, she earned another call-up to represent England for the cadet, junior and U21s European Karate Championships in Cyprus. Later that year, in November 2023, Autumn represented Wadokai England in Belgium, coming home with a bronze medal.

In February 2024, She was called up for her third England cap and competed for the under 18s at the European Championships in Tbilisi in Georgia.

Most recently Autumn became the English Karate Champion for Kumite under 18s in the +66kg weight category.

What makes her achievements even more astonishing, is that Autumn fractured her back in three places following a freak accident in June 2022.

Autumn competes in the English E1 Series, and the English and British Championships. In order to be selected for England, she has to travel the world to compete in the World Karate Federation K1 Youth League where she gathers ranking points, as well as experience. Last year Autumn travelled to 11 countries in 12 months, all whilst working hard at school for her approaching GCSEs.

Her next karate challenge will be to once again represent her country, this time in The British Karate Federation Four Nations Championships to be held in Durham in two weeks time.

Autumn continues to train daily, enhancing her skills under the instruction of Sensei Jamie Jewell, Brandon Jewell and TKW Karate

We look forward to following Autumn's karate career in the coming months and years.

What is Kumite Karate?

Kumite is a form of sparring, one of the three main sections of karate training, and involves full combat against an opponent. The competitors fight with a series of punches, kicks and sweeps to the head and body in sudden death rounds.
