Kayleigh & Sinan at Milford Cards & Gifts in the high street have had a excellent response to the recent appeal for donations from a list of practical items following the Earthquake Disaster in Turkey.
In fact, the donations have been so high that they are having to pause receiving donations of items for the time being. The charity they are working with (Luton Turkish Community Association) are inundated with generously donated items nationwide and need time to organise getting them sent on to Turkey.
Kayleigh & Sinan want to thank everyone for their love and well wishes, and said: "Milford on Sea maybe a small village but it has a huge heart. We have also managed to raise over £1000 which will go a long way to helping so many people. Thank you so much."

Also, Mark at The Village News is still taking cash donations for the Turkey and Syria Earthquake appeal, all of which goes directly to the Disasters Emergency Committee (DEC) through his Payzone system.
The Payzone system is also used for anyone to make domestic bill payments; such as gas & electricity and also for mobile phone top ups. Payzone have now added a function to make charity donations to the emergency appeal.
Donations from £1 to £99 can be paid and a receipt will be provided, with 100% going to the appeal.
