Massive turnout at Manor Road Public Meeting

Around 300 residents attended the public meeting to discuss the proposed Manor Road Development on Wednesday 27th September at 7pm at The Bridge.

The meeting was organised by a recently formed group; the 'Milford Residents for Sustainable Development' who are concerned about numerous aspects of the proposed 'Manor Road Development'. Based on the numbers attending, it appears many Milford on Sea residents share their concerns.

The new group of residents, and are working closely with the SLAM (School Lane and Manor Road) group to try to ensure what they consider the best outcome for the village.

The issue related to a planning application which has been submitted for up to 191 residential dwellings on the land north of Manor Road, west of Lymington Road and east of Barnes Lane.  (NFDC Planning Ref: 23/10476)

The 'Milford Residents for Sustainable Development' consider that this development represents gross over development of the site and we wish to ensure that the NFDC Planning process takes full account of local opinion to ensure an appropriate level of development for this high-profile gateway site to the village.

At the close of the meeting, the organisers commented:

"We were overwhelmed by the level of support to object to the overdevelopment of this gateway site. We are determined to ensure that the scheme that might ultimately be approved enhances the village and the concerns and opinions of local residents are fully heard."
