The Advertiser & Times carried an article this week telling the story of Noel Osborne, a retired pilot from Milford on Sea who completed a charity ride of 8,726 miles, covering a minimum of 120 miles a week.
Noel's challenge was inspired by the care his daughter Jo Rivron and granddaughter Matilda who have received as they battle different types of cancer.
He began cycling every day during lockdown and set himself the challenge of completing the distance between his Milford on Sea home and Trinidad, where his parents were born, before 21st June.
He completed the final stretch with daughter Nicky before being joined by Jo’s husband Christian and granddaughters Matilda and Amelie to cross the finish line.
His cycling challenge has raised more than £18,000 for charities including Oakhaven Hospice.
