Chris Jones at Concert Club Live!

The next New Forest Organ Society will feature Chris Jones on Tuesday 13th June starting at 2.30pm at All Saint's Hall, Greenbank Drive, Milford on Sea.

Chris' interest in music began with the piano, but he was introduced to the electronic organ at age thirteen and was soon performing in public. He played the Hammond C3 for dancing at Streatham Ice Rink and worked in an organ shop in Croydon.

After turning professional in 1985 he has played at most societies and festivals around the country. About Jasmin Mason at Karuna Canine Behaviour

Jasmin is a Qualified & Experienced Dog Behaviour Consultant & Trainer.

As she explains: My name is Jasmin and I am the owner, head trainer and behaviour consultant at Karuna Canine Behaviour. I am qualified, accredited, insured, and highly experienced in my field- working with dogs and their owners is my absolute passion.

I love working with high energy dogs, fizzy dogs, busy dogs, working breeds in pet homes and the dogs that have a little summin' summin' that needs channelling in the right way. I enjoy working with all breeds, but its no secret that I am a German Shepherd lover through and through and have a special place in my heart for dogs that are often considered 'scary', but in reality as loveable loons. I train through relationship and motivation based techniques, designed to work with the dog in front of you, find what motivates them, drives them, what they enjoy, and use that in a way that enables us to enhance their training, and improve our lives with our dogs for the better.

Reactivity cases are my absolute favourite to work with. Many of my services are designed specifically with this often misunderstood dogs in mind- helping you to build practical skills, develop confidence in yourself and your dog, improve your relationship, AND get the results your looking for. Infact, many of these services were built on creating something that I once would have benefitted from when I worked through reactivity with my own dog. There is never any judgement, just love and support from myself and the incredible community of reactive dog owners that I have built. I offer a 'holistic' approach, looking at every factor impacting your dogs behaviour and addressing the root cause of your dogs reactivity as opposed to solely tackling the symptoms. Reactivity is often an emotionally-taxing problem to deal with, but the moments where you begin to see how much your dog has changed and grown is beyond magic. Dealing with reactivity is never a quick fix, but I'm here to give you the skills to begin your dogs transformation.

I offer a range of workshops, classes, as well as 121 training and behaviour consultations.

If you're ready to begin your training and behaviour journey, let's chat!

Stroll through the village of Milford-on-Sea and its lovely wooded Pleasure Grounds while your guide relates how the sleepy hamlet of Milford tried to live down its smuggling days and changed its name to try to rival genteel Eastbourne. Hear the story of the string of pearls seven yards long....

  • 11am: Sunday 16th July 2023

Gold & Silver Medals for Simon at the Jordan Para Open

Milford on Sea para-athlete, Simon Heaps has recently returned from representing Great Britain at the Jordan Para Open, where he was delighted to have won a Gold and Silver Medal.

Travelling to the tournament, his competition wheelchair was damaged and it took 4.5 hours to get it repaired on the practise day. Although the replacement wheels were different to his normal wheels, he had a great first day, winning all of his singles matches, including a win against the Indian No 1 and Commonwealth Games semi finalist, 3-1.

Simon explains: "The Silver medal was very close to being my first Gold in singles, when I lost a very, very tight 5 setter to the highly world ranked Egyptian No 1 11/9 in the fifth set.

Gold was won in the MD8 Class with my French partner. We beat the No 2 seeds in our group 3-0 and it was the Jordanian pair that we beat in the Final, again 3-0 to win that Gold Medal."

Disappointingly for Simon, within 10 mins off the final finishing, he had to leave for the airport airport to catch his plane home and missed the official medal ceremony.

He is also very gratefully to the local companies below that provide very valuable sponsorship:
  • Macron Sportwear
  • WMS Underfloor Heating
  • Will Stone Gas Plumbing & Heating
  • Everton Hyundai
  • British Online School
  • Portsdown View Care Home
  • Snap Fitness 24/7 Christchurch

About Simon Heaps

Simon was born in 1955 and lives in Milford on Sea. In 2019 he lost his lower right leg due to long-term Type 1 Diabetes that he has had since 13 years of age. In 2022 his left leg was also amputated.

Always an accomplished table tennis player, he has now focussed his life on becoming a successful international para-athlete.

Simon has gone on become a key player in the Great Britain Para Table Tennis Team (Class 5). He is also now firmly established as Great Britain No 2 in his Class and is World Ranked.

All of Simon's appearances for Great Britain are on a self funding basis including buying his Great Britain kit. Participating in international competitions throughout a year costs approaching £20,000.

Simon always welcomes and is grateful for any type of support, such as; company sponsors, charitable donations, raffles and draw prizes.

No64 Pizza makes its Milford on Sea debut with a Pizza Pop Up at The Cave on Friday 16th June (Pizzas served between 5 & 7pm, or until there’s no more dough left!)

You are likely to have heard of No64 Biscuit House, the home furnishings & accessories shop in the high street, but have you heard of No64 Pizza?!

No64 Pizza is Glenn & Clare’s new venture, a converted horse box designed & styled by Clare, hand-making & stone-baking authentic pizza for a wide range of events.

Teaming up with Milford on Sea’s No.1 gin & cocktail hostelry, The Cave Wine Bar, they’re doing a special pop-up night on Friday 16th June, serving delicious pizza, between 5 & 7pm!

Owner of The Cave, Jon Crouch, said:
“I’ve known Glenn & Clare for more than a decade, I was delighted when they opened No64 Biscuit House in the village, and when Glenn & I hatched the idea of trialling a ‘Pizza Night’ outside The Cave I didn’t need to give it a second thought, and so we immediately set our first date!”

No64’s Glenn Harrison says:
“Clare & I have been planning this new venture for ages, Covid stifled our plans somewhat but, at last, here we are! As soon as we were ready to launch Jon, at The Cave, who helped us with the launch night of No64 Biscuit House, was always going to be our first choice for our second village business launch, No64 Pizza”.
