Join in the Beginners Salsa Classes

The Beginners Salsa Classes have started and new members are still very welcome to join in.

The classes are held in the Dance Studio in Milford on Sea Community Centre and run weekly on Fridays from 7.30pm to 8.30pm.

Classes will be running until Friday 16th December and then restart after Christmas on 6th January 2023.

Suitable for complete beginners or those with some experience of salsa.

No partner needed. £8 per class.

Learning Salsa is a great way to meet new people and get moving to high energy music. Option to head to the pub together for a drink after class.

Danie Louise says: I've taught and performed salsa all over the world. I have over 15 years teaching experience and I'm now a professional mindset coach - this class is all about bringing those two disciplines together - to move great and feel great!

I love teaching salsa because it's a lot of fun and I've seen how it's helped so many people (including myself) to feel more confident and happy!

My aim is to help people gain the confidence and technique to enjoy dancing salsa, while creating space to have fun and forget about life's challenges for a little while. As someone new to the area I'm also looking to meet new people and I've learned that salsa is one of the most fun ways to do that!

No64 Christmas Raffle Winners

The No64 Biscuit House Christmas Raffle in aid of Oakhaven Hospice Trust was drawn at the end of November having raised an impressive £1,295 for Oakhaven Hospice.

Twenty prizes had been generously donated by local businesses for this very worthwhile cause.

Sports Pavilion to get makeover

A recent article in the Advertiser and Times by Roz Waters reported that a £45,000 refurbishment of the Chris Walford Pavilion at Barnes Lanes Recreation Ground is planned for early in the new year.

The sports pavilion in Milford on Sea is predominantly used by the Milford on Sea boys and girls football and cricket teams.

It is hoped that the final part of the funding will be in place soon.

The Chris Walford Pavilion

Chris Walford looked after the pitches and facilities at the Recreation Ground in Barnes Lane for over 33 years.

In 2021 the sports pavilion, which Chris almost single-handedly built, was renamed to The Chris Walford Pavilion by the Parish Council to honour the longstanding groundskeeper.

Chris was also chair of Milford Cricket Club for many years.

The sports pitches are used by Milford on Sea adult & girls cricket and Milford Youth FC.

Black Butter launch Sunday Brunch

Black Butter Social Dining have launched a Sunday Brunch Menu which will run up until Christmas.

Since opening only a few days ago, this enterprising pop up in the former La Perle Restaurant in Milford on Sea high street is already proving extremely popular.

Black Butter Social Dining originate from Lymington and have taken over the former La Perle restaurant from Friday 18th November until Christmas. They will be opening Wednesday and Sunday for lunch and dinner.

The menu will feature favourite tapas dishes and what they describe as 'some unreal new creations.' This will include seasonal, fresh & vibrant dishes, sharing plates and set menus. There will also be pairings with some funky cocktails and nice wines.

EV Chargers in Milford on Sea Car Parks

The Energyst online magazine has published an article saying that EV (Electric Vehicle) charging specialists Mer and Joju Charging are to install more fast chargers at locations across the New Forest.

This includes a fast charger and rapid charger to be installed at two car parks in Milford on Sea.
