The Royal British Legion Milford on Sea Branch had an excellent turn out to their Celebratory Picnic on Milford on Sea Village Green to mark Armed Forces Day on Saturday 29th June 2024.
Carole Barnett, Poppy Appeal Organiser for Milford on Sea commented: "Saturday dawned bright and sunny, a good start to Armed Forces Day on the green. Many people joined us with picnics and listened to the musical entertainment supported the Tombola and Bric a Brac Stall. The Poppy Appeal collected over £600 and the Royal British Legion Milford Branch, £530. We would like to thank you all for such generous donations for a very worthy cause."
Everyone had been invited to bring their own picnic, enjoy a tasty treat or drink from a village café, pub, or The Cave, or grab a village takeaway.
Throughout the afternoon people enjoyed the live music of the local and popular mother & daughter duo The Jems. Mike Hartley & Alan Pinkney also provided musical entertainment during the afternoon.
