A week following her final A level exam, Milford on Sea schoolgirl, Ellie Mans golfing career continued to develop when she was selected to play for the Dorset Ladies in the South West Inter-County Match Week.
In her debut for the Ladies Team, Ellie was undefeated in her 4 matches as Dorset went onto claim the trophy & became South West Ladies County Champions.
Ellie and the Dorset Ladies have now qualified to play In the National English Women's County Finals in Kings Lynn in September, a contest between the 6 winning counties from the North, Midland North, Midland South, East, South & South West. The final match will be played on Sunday 24th September the day before Ellie flies to Rome to support the European Team in the Ryder Cup.
At the Dorset championships last weekend, Ellie carded a gross 71 (-2) at Dudsbury Golf Club & Spa in windy conditions with an eagle and 3 birdies, which as a Telegraph Junior golf qualifier, will position Ellie in 3rd place on the 2023 Justin Rose leaderboard. The top 12 girls are invited to compete on the South Course, Quinta Do Lago, Portugal in November which will be Ellie’s second invitation to compete and play.
Ellie's Free-Fall for Charity
Ellie is now preparing to free-fall in a skydive for charity on her 18th Birthday.
Never one to quietly sit down, on August 4th, Ellen will turn 18 and as Dorset Girls Captain she has chosen to free-fall for Charity. She is raising money to ensure there is a foundation available to provide opportunities for young girls in Dorset & Hampshire to commence & develop their golf game and have a skill for life.
She is also supporting 'Will Does', dedicated to the memory of William Paddy, whose life ended early at the age of 14, but his energy lives on through those who knew him, helping young people achieve wellbeing.
