3 Weeks to the Milford Music Festival: Time to Meet Some Bands

There is now just over three weeks to go until the very special weekend of the Milford on Sea Music Festival, which is free for everyone, and takes place on the village green from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd July 2023.

Headline Act: John Illsley bass guitarist of the legendary and multi-award winning rock band, Dire Straits.

Plus, 19 talented local bands, singers & musicians across a multitude of genres performing for our free entertainment.

The full line up and timings of the band performances are available in the Music Festival Programme which costs just £3. The programmes will be on sale soon, and we will let you know where you can buy one, when we know.

MEET SOME OF THE BANDS:

The Danny Salamander Band

21st Century Blues Infused Rock, a hint of Southern Comfort & some classics. It’s a Rock n’ Roll Show!

The Southern Companion

Award winning Americana & Country band fronted by singer/songwriter and guitarist Darren Hodson from Lymington.

Their sound is a fusion of all the music they love,“A sonic whirlpool where the UK and US currents meet.“

Skamageddon

Ska Ska and more Ska! Ska Elements of Caribbean mento and calypso with American jazz and rhythm and blues.

Emma Hardy Band

Emma Hardy is singer songwriter from Hordle. She plays guitar and piano and performs country, pop and rock with her band.

Dog Ruff

Milford on Sea's very own iconic and and ever popular rock cover band.

Guaranteed to get the crowd on their feet!

Six & Sax

Multi-piece band, playing an eclectic mix of classic pop covers and dance numbers. Keys and sax with female vocalists out front sharing lead and harmonies.

The Manatees

Combining hip-hop samples, funk inspired bass lines, thrashing guitars and candid lyrics to carve out their own soundscape within modern rock.

HEADLINE ACT: John Illsley

Bass guitarist of the critically acclaimed band Dire Straits. Recipient of multiple BRIT and Grammy Awards and a Heritage Award. 

Dire Straits sold over 120 million albums and toured across the world. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.

Today, John has 8 solo albums to his credit and is also an accomplished artist.

The Milford on Sea Music Festival will also feature a well-stocked and well-staffed bar, a range of wonderful local food trucks, and all other facilities you’d expect from a professional festival, including attention paid to sustainability and disabled access.
