Christmas Dining in Milford on Sea

30 March 2023

New Charity Shop to be opened Opera Star

The Community Centre are delighted to announce that the new Community Centre Shop on the corner of the High Street and Sea Road will open at 10am on Saturday 8th April.

Acclaimed Village celebrity and international opera star, Colin Judson has agreed to cut the ribbon. Colin has entertained village people over many years - at his Christmas concerts, at wonderful operatic events and as such a welcome relief after lockdown at the open-air concert at the recreation ground.

The Community Centre Team would like to thank Colin for kindly agreeing to officially open this new venture for the Community Centre, we look forward to an exciting and special day.

Meantime, collect one of the unique ‘Grand Opening, Easter Saturday 10% Discount Vouchers’, available both-in the run-up to the big day (from our Church Hill Shop) and from both shops, on the day!'

Come and join the celebration at 10 o’clock. This will be an event to remember, so come and be one of the first customers, take part in the lucky draw, and browse our great stock and just enjoy this latest addition to our bustling High Street, while supporting a vibrant hub of entertainment and services.

------------------------------

The existing Village Charity Shop on Church Hill, founded in 2010 will remain open and this new shop at 78 High Street (formerly Milford Travel) will become a new Retail Style Charity Outlet which will be smart, presentable and sell a range of quality donated goods at attractive prices.

The new store will feature a wider range of clothing and other goods that the smaller charity shop was previously unable to take. The aim is to display quality items to their full advantage, whilst the other Charity Shop remains as more of an 'Aladdin's Cave'.

The existing Charity Shop has contributed significant profits to the Community Centre over the last 12 years, helping with operating costs, and enabling the Community Centre to run the many community activities that they do today.

The new venture will be a key part of future funding to enable the Community Centre to continue to grow the centre’s activities, events, community services, facilities & future expansion to meet the needs of the growing population of Milford on Sea.

If you would like to donate any items to the new Charity Shop, please contact the Community Centre.

If you would like to volunteer to work in the new Charity Shop in the mornings, afternoons, or just occasionally; please contact:
