Milford looking to help the people of Afghanistan

Message from Liz Jennings: I'm sure our hearts go out to the people of Afghanistan. We fear for those who remain in such a troubled country and want to show practical compassion to all who have been evacuated, leaving behind loved ones and all they possess. The Milford Action for Refugees group (MAR) which is part of 'Christians Together' is holding two events. Your support would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Saturday 2nd October from 10am to 1pm on Milford on Sea Village Green, you are invited to help both neighbours and strangers. There will be the opportunity to give urgently needed money to the Red Cross Afghanistan Crisis Appeal, alongside Basics Banks (also part of 'Christians Together') who will collect food for local people in the New Forest area who are in need. 

The morning also includes, music by Windmill (the local Jazz and Swing group) and cake, sold in aid of the Red Cross, which will make it an enjoyable way to spend the early part of your day.

Saturday 16th October from 10am to 4pm at Milford Baptist Church in Barnes Lane there will be a collection of warm winter coats and sweater for all ages. Please bring only these items, which must be clean and in good condition.
