Do you have some time to spare to help with the Spring Clean at Hurst Castle? Anyone in the village is invited as the castle prepares to reopen soon.
On Monday, 17th March 2025, a group of friendly people will to help make the castle ready for reopening to the public on 1st April 2025.
All cleaning equipment will be provided along with biscuits aplenty, but you’ll need to bring a packed lunch and drinks as there is no fresh water at the castle. Please also come dressed for the weather and the tasks in hand: old, warm clothes, waterproofs if it’s wet, and rubber gloves or gardening gloves.
The ferry will be leaving Keyhaven at 9am sharp, with the return at around 4pm – though volunteers can of course return earlier by walking along Hurst Spit.
If you'd like to join in, please let Tricia know asap (this is really important) so that she can ensure that there’s enough space on the ferry. And enough biscuits!
