Social Deaf Club Next Tuesday

Everyone is invited, hard of hearing or not, to the next New Forest Social Deaf Club on Tuesday 2nd July 2024 at The Cave. Drop in anytime from 5pm to 8pm and you can even bring your dog!

The evening is a great opportunity to meet and chat to new people, whilst relaxing over a glass of your favourite wine, a speciality gin & tonic, or a premium beer, - and if you fancy, grab a tasty plate of meat, fish or vegetarian Tapas.

About the New Forest Social Deaf Club

The New Forest Social Deaf Club is held the First Tuesday of Every Month from 5pm to 8pm in The Cave, entry is free, and everyone is invited, hard of hearing, or not.

This informal social gathering is attended by people from the village and across the New Forest.

This concept was originally founded in February 2024 as a direct result of FeelHear’s first 10 week Introduction to British Sign Language (BSL) Course in Milford on Sea village.

Organiser Nancy explains: "When our first Introduction to BSL Course completed in December 2023 the delegates asked ‘what’s next? It was decided that we needed a comfortable, safe space for them to practise their new found signing skills in a social environment. There was also the opportunity to invite others who were deaf, hard of hearing, or simply interested in the deaf world. My aim has always been to bridge the gap between the deaf and the hearing world, and what better way to do this than to bring everyone together over a cheeky drink in a posh wine bar! - The Social Deaf Club was born.”

Hard of hearing, or not, everyone is welcome.
