Upcoming Planning Meeting for Manor Road Development

We have heard that the outline planning application by Pennyfarthing Homes, for a housing development of 170 homes and 3 access roads on the land north of Manor Road in Milford on Sea, will come up before the NFDC Planning Committee in February 2024. (This may possibly be pushed back until the March meeting.)

The SLAM Group & Milford Residents for Sustainable Development would like to get as many people as possible to attend the planning meeting to show the Planning Committee any objections they may have.

The two dates for the NFDC Planning Committee Meetings are:
  • 9am: Wednesday 14th February 2024 - or possibly:
  • 9am: Wednesday 13th March 2024
  • Arrival would ideally be around 815am.
  • Venue: Council Chamber, Appletree Court, Beaulieu Road, Lyndhurst, SO43 7PA

The group are also currently working on a dossier to send to each one of the planning committee.

We have been informed that this will contain; "The reasons why the planning application fails to adhere to the NFDC Local Plan and why the outline planning application must be refused."

Copies will be available to anyone who may like one.

Should anyone wish to go to the meeting, but have an issue with transport, please contact the group for lifts to be arranged. Also, if there is enough demand, a coach may be organised.

The group will advise anyone on their mailing list of the meeting date once confirmed. Their contact details are below.

SLAM Group & Milford Residents for Sustainable Development previously circulated a very comprehensive email. To read, please click here.

To date there had been over 350 objections on the New Forest District Council website. Many of the objections were on the basis that the local infrastructure cannot support so many new houses.

Concerns included unmanageable pressure on resources such as the school and doctors. Additional traffic, village parking and potential flooding were also mentioned.

Anyone wishing to express their view can do so below.
