Try out Nordic Walking in Milford on Sea

If you would like to try a different type of healthy walk with a friendly group, Suzanne & Trevor Madden offer Nordic Walking in Milford on Sea and across The New Forest.

For the past ten years, residents of Milford on Sea and surrounding areas have been enjoying the benefits of one of the world's fastest growing fitness activities - Nordic Walking.

Benefits of Nordic Walking
It's a great way of improving or maintaining fitness in beautiful local coast & forest surroundings.

Each week there are 12 dog friendly walks that include the Milford on Sea coastline and Keyhaven.

Non members are welcome on a pay as you go basis.

However, it is not simply a case of grabbing a pair of poles and walking with them! It requires the correct technique in order to get the whole body working and it is essential you learn this from a qualified Instructor who will ensure you get the full benefit and fastest possible results.

There are some Nordic Walking 'Free Taster Sessions' and 'Learn to Nordic Walk Courses' coming soon that you might like to join in with:

~ Free Taster Session: 10.30am: Tuesday 12th September 2023 in Milford on Sea.

~ Learn to Nordic Walk Course: Starts on Wednesday 6th September 2023. (Run monthly)

“What makes it so appealing is that it’s suitable for all ages and fitness levels, is simple to learn and really sociable.” says Suzanne Madden, a local Nordic Walking Instructor. “By using the specially designed poles, you use all the major muscles in the body and burn up to twice as many calories as ordinary walking but without any extra effort!” she adds. “The fact that we allow well behaved dogs on our walks is a special selling point – they seem to enjoy it more than their owners!”

"The poles also reduce the pressure on the knees and joints and the gentle upper body movement is great for easing back and neck pain too which is why local medical experts recommend it. Those that have tried it all agree that being outdoors is energising and that they feel fantastic afterwards!"
