The Royal British Legion's Poppy Appeal starts at the end of October, and Milford on Sea resident and local Poppy Appeal Organiser, Carol Barnett is looking for anyone who can lend a hand collecting donations for an hour or two.
In 2022, The total sum collected in Milford on Sea was £6,322. These valuable donations went to help ex-service personnel and their families.
Carol has sent the message below for anyone who would like to get involved:
"Once again the time of Remembrance approaches. Another year has passed during which the Royal British Legion has carried on its admirable work supporting ex-service men and women and their families.I am looking for volunteers to sell the Poppies in Milford Village Centre in late October. You can do this at a time to suit yourself and for as long as you wish, the usual collecting time is 1 or 2 hours. Please just get in touch."
It is also a great way to meet some new people.
The Poppy Appeal starts on October 26th until Remembrance Sunday, and Carol would be grateful if you can you spare a few hours to volunteer as a Poppy Appeal Collector?

The Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal is to remember those who lost their lives on active service in all conflicts; from the beginning of the First World War right up to the present day. The poppy is for remembrance to all those who have served and their families.
