Olivia Inspires, a Milford on sea Charity were delighted to have recently been presented with a cheque for £2500 by the Milford on Sea WI.
The WI had chosen Olivia Inspires as their charity of the year for 2022.
Last week Nigel Burt, father of Olivia and the charity's founder, went along to the WI's AGM to gratefully receive the cheque. The money will now go towards supporting youngsters across the local area.
About Oliva Inspires
Olivia Inspires was created in the memory of Olivia Burt, a young person from Milford on Sea who died tragically in Durham, where she was a first-year student studying Natural Sciences.
Olivia Inspires will assist children and young people aged 11 to 18 years, whose families live in the New Forest District Council area and who are facing financial hardship.
They do this by making grants of money, normally no more than £500, to provide items or services to enable them to develop their potential in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics), the arts and sport.
