Shelagh Richardson and her husband Peter moved to Milford on Sea from Lymington five years ago, a couple of years after Peter had suffered a sudden massive cardiac arrest in 2015.
At the time of the heart attack, Peter's life was initially saved by a quick thinking friend doing CPR. South Central Ambulance service were there to help very quickly, and then the expertise of the Wessex Cardiac Unit at Southampton General Hospital enabled Peter to survive.
Their Son, Andy has now entered to take part in the London Marathon in aid of Wessex Heartbeat and he has committed to raising £2000.
Shelagh said; "Sadly, none of us know when we might need cardiac medical care or even a bed at Heartbeat House in Southampton." Shelagh herself spent 9 long weeks in their care.
