Christmas Dining in Milford on Sea

26 November 2021

‘A Christmas To Remember’

The Community Centre is delighted to present a real treat for Christmas Eve.

Colin Judson is back for a Christmas Special together with two wonderful singers and accompanied by the brilliant Richard Black.

Colin, as we all know (and love), is a Milford resident who so kindly brings his magic to the village and for this concert he is joined by mezzo soprano Helen Evora and soprano Claire Rutter, both of whom are delighted to celebrate Christmas Eve with us.

Helen completed her music studies at Trinity College of Music, London, and the Guildhall School of Music & Drama where she received full scholarships.   Helen is a member of the Opera North Chorus, and has covered and performed numerous roles for the company. Most recently she played Countess Charlotte in A Little Night Music in the Opera North / Leeds Playhouse co-production; covered the role of Dinah in Bernstein's Trouble in Tahiti and performed the role of Mercedes Carmen in Opera North's new production.  Her forthcoming performances include further appearances as Mercedes in Carmen early next year; and Flowermaiden Parsifal in June 2022.

Renowned and critically acclaimed soprano Claire was born in South Shields, of Scottish Norwegian descent, and studied at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama and National Opera Studio, sponsored by English National Opera. She won YCAT (Young Concert Artists’ Trust) among several other leading opera prizes. She has sung title and lead roles worldwide at esteemed opera houses including most recently at Sydney Opera House and Dallas Opera.

Following many cancellations last year due to Covid Claire looks forward to returning to the opera stage in February 2022 with Wagner’s Die Walküre for Icelandic Opera, and to the concert platform for concerts and recitals in the U.K. including Cheltenham Festival, Swindon Recital Series and the Sherborne Abbey Festival.

Colin Judson has a busy forthcoming year as one of the most sought after character tenors of his generation.  He is a regular at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden, English National Opera, The Glyndebourne Festival, Glyndebourne on tour and Garsington opera.

Next season Colin will travel to Opera Bastille, Paris, to sing the funeral director in Leonard Bernstein’s A Quiet Place. He will return to the Glyndebourne Festival and tour for The Marriage of Figaro, fly to Berlin for a recording of Tosca and then return to London for Mozart’s The Magic Flute at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.

‘A Christmas To Remember’ is performing on Christmas Eve at 3pm.

Tickets £25 to include Festive snacks and a sparkly glass.

Tickets from the Community Centre box office. Open Monday to Friday 10am – 4pm or online from www.moscommunitycentre.org.uk  or reserve by phone 01590 644861 during box office opening times.

'It will be all the music you hope at some point to hear during Christmas in one afternoon!
