We are pleased that Tim at South Lawn has sent us the following update:
"As September approaches we would like to update you on our Shortbread for Oakhaven fundraising initiative.
You will recall that during Lockdown we decided to bake shortbread biscuits to help support Oakhaven, every penny from sales went to the hospice and we were supported by the local community buying butter from us/for us as the main ingredient. It was a superb success that allowed everyone to contribute to the cause.
In the first week we were able to raise a whopping £1017 which followed with a further £1000 over the following few weeks. We kept the initiative going all through the summer and had planned to run this through to September.
We are absolutely delighted to tell you that we have just hit another £1000. Thank you so much for everyone that was able to support us in achieving a massive total of over £3,000 for this very worthy cause.
This total also includes some cash donations from locals and also from the hotel as a gesture of thanks to the entertainers that have played in our garden each Sunday afternoon throughout July and August."
