Village artist, George Woodford has recently won two of the three major awards for his paintings at the American Art Awards.

First he won 'The Masterpiece Prize' for most overall wins of one image entered in various categories for his 18×14″ oil painting; 'Eric', which ranked very high in six categories from Portrait to Fashion to Political Commentary.
He also won 'The 2014 Stoney Award' for most overall wins by one artist as nine of his paintings were rated high in an assortment of categories.
George graduated from Camberwell School of Art in London with a BA Honours Degree. After graduating, his earlier works portrayed much of his native New Forest. The increasing demand for his paintings allowed him to give up the post as a senior lecturer to paint full time.
Over the years, George has produced an extensive portfolios of subjects ranging from figure, wildlife and still life to land and seascapes.

George has exhibited with the ‘Society of Wildlife Artists, The Society of Marine Artists, The Wildlife Art Society, The Marwell Art Society, and Nature in Art.
His work is sold through the premier auction houses in London, private galleries and is collected by an international clientele. His paintings have also been released as limited edition prints with Worldwide Prints.
Winning awards is not new to George, and the sale of his paintings has raised thousands of pounds for conservation and other deserving causes.
