Vacancy At  The Charity Shop

The village Community Centre have the following vacancy below:


Charity Shop Manager

The part time role is equivalent to 3 days per week and supported by 2 assistants and a team of experienced volunteers.

Salary is £11,560 pa plus a significant bonus opportunity and the position is pensionable.

Free Gigs by New Forest Big Band

The New Forest Big Band are performing a number of Free Gigs at the South Lawn Hotel throughout this year.

The band play a variety of music from the big band era, including: Glenn Miller, Ted Heath and Joe Loss

The evenings takes place on the majority of Thursday evening and full details can be found at: www.milfordonseacalendar.org  

The South Lawn bar will be open, as will their restaurant should you wish to complete your evening with a tasty meal.

New Team at The White Horse

The White Horse, have brand new staff, brand new management, brand new chef and a brand new menu. 

Sarah Owen and her team are looking forward to welcoming customers both old and new for a drink.

The new food menu is currently being completed and we will let you know when it is being served. (Aimed to be around beginning of February.)

Total Voice to Host The Blackheath Choirs

Local singers Total Voice Chamber Choir were lucky enough to travel to London in December 2016 to sing Messiah with choirs from the Blackheath Centre for Singing. 

Now it is time for a ‘return match’. The Blackheath choirs will be travelling from the Big Smoke to Milford to join Total Voice in a performance of Faure’s Requiem on 10 March at All Saints Church. It promises to be an evening of inspiring and beautiful music. 

The Total Voice team are looking forward to giving their visitors a very warm welcome and showing them the delights Milford.

Rugby and Burgers at The Wash House

The Wash House in Milford on Sea High Street will be showing all of the Six Nations rugby matches, and they will also serving their menu of burgers made at La Perle.

Free Minibus Service to continue in 2018

The Milford on Sea Charitable Trust is continuing to run the free minibus service between Milford and Everton, on Tuesday mornings, with two trips each way. Residents can travel in either direction with pick up points by arrangement. Just ring to arrange. 

Please feel free to use the service and encourage others to do so. Local groups can also use the minibus by arrangement.

The Milford on Sea Charitable Trust are grateful to the generous support of Hillyfield Rest Home for the use of their bus. The Trust are raising funds for a permanent minibus for the village if this trial is successful. Donations are welcome.

Sophie Launches New Catering Business

Milford on Sea resident, Sophie Bence has launched a new business; 'Sophie the Private Chef', offering fresh home-cooked food delivered to your door for every occasion. The service is ideal for birthday celebrations, dinner parties to fuss-free mid-week dinners you can pop in the oven.

Trained at Bath School of Cookery, Sophie who has lived in the village for more than five years has a particular passion for creating home-made simple but flavoursome food, catering for any dietary requirement.

Discover the history of Milford on Sea

One of the oldest societies in the village is The Milford on Sea Historical Record Society which was formed in 1909. 

The purpose of the society is to research local history and preserve records of Milford on Sea. They have wealth of records in various forms: maps, photographs, books & transcripts of early records.

The society meets on a regular basis throughout the year, and have a number of excellent speakers already booked for this year.

Everyone is welcome to go along to the meetings which are held at All Saints Church Hall, Greenbanks Close Milford on Sea at 7.45pm. Complimentary Coffee, Tea or Soft Drinks are available from 7.15 pm.

Membership of the Society is open to all and the Annual Subscription, covering all Talks is great value at £10 per year. Visitors are charged £4.00 per visit.
