About Nauti Treats and Bonnie Marsden

Bonnie moved to Milford on Sea with her family in 2020, and prior to this had a career in brand strategy with BBC Worldwide and Macmillan Cancer Support in London.

Having a long-time passion for baking and a young daughter, it felt like the natural next step for Bonnie to start her own cake making business, and this is how Nauti Treats was born.

Bonnie specialises in custom cupcake orders, from Winnie the Pooh-themed christening cakes to gluten-free and dairy-free dark chocolate birthday cakes. Each cupcake is crafted not only to suit dietary needs but to enhance the celebration, adding a personal touch that elevates the entire experience. 

Whether catering for large parties or intimate gatherings, she takes pride in helping her clients create the special moments they’re after. She has even recreated wedding cupcakes for a special vow renewal. 

Nauti Treats have a 5-star hygiene rating, and Bonnie is also able to accommodate various allergens, ensuring that everyone can enjoy a Nauti Treat without worry.

Bonnie's experience with allergen-friendly baking began at home, as her daughter couldn't have dairy until she was two, and her mother-in-law follows a gluten-free diet. Baking with allergens in mind has since become second nature.

Children up to 12 can enjoy a 2 or 3 course meal for free when dining with an adult.*

Village Author publishes latest Children's Book

Milford on Sea based children's book author, Barbara Gibbons-Roscoe has just published a new children’s book called “The Umbrella Chronicles Book 1: Tales of Imagination and Invention”.

She has also created The Children's Book Treasury Facebook page which features all of her current six books available for kids, and as a place to let people know about the future books she writes.

Will explains: "With the direct sun in this shot it meant I had to use the LEE Filters ND and grad filters to slow the shutter down enough to get some movement in the water. I could see the waves creeping up with the tide and crashing over the rock in the foreground so it was a waiting game to capture the right wave."

Do you have a Lasting Power of Attorney in place?

Many people realise that having a Lasting Power of Attorney in place can make the future much easier for your family and yourself.

Tony, a semi-retired local professional runs LPA's For Locals, where he offers a:

Free weekly drop-in Every Monday between 10.15am to 12noon at The Bridge.

Here local residents can get a free information and advice service on Lasting Powers of Attorney (LPAs), which cover looking after property, financial, and health affairs when we might not be able to.

Simply drop in during the opening times, grab a free coffee, and get all of your questions answered. Find out what’s involved, how you can go about it and pick up some free printed information to take away. 

Since starting his service in September 2024, Tony is delighted to have helped numerous people in the village.

Tony said; "It is my mission for all local residents to have convenient access to free information and guidance but fully understand not just about LPAs, but also what happens involving the Court of Protection if we have no LPA in place at the precise time it is needed. This is something to be avoided! The key underlying message is to have them in place in good time and whilst we are still well enough to fully understand the decisions we are making. Losing the ability to make our own decisions can happen to anyone at any time at any age through serious illness, accident, a routine operation that went wrong or things such as dementia etc.

Having them in place provides reassurance, not only for ourselves to know it’s taken care of and there when needed, but can make life so much easier, cost effective and straightforward for our partners, closest loved ones and friends."

 There are two types of LPA. One for Financial decisions (includes property) and one for Health and Care decisions.  Both are equally important as we focus on living life for today, but with an eye on making tomorrow easier for everyone in our family or friendship circle should difficulties arise.

Adele Tribute coming to The Bridge

The Adele Tribute: Rolling In The Deep will be coming to The Bridge on Friday 4th April 2025 at 8pm.

The versatile and talented Natalie Black, as her Adele Tribute, will be covering all the hits from the modern day icon, including Chasing Pavements, Hello and Easy On Me.

This Adele Tribute, Rolling In The Deep, developed a passion for singing and performing in school plays and choirs from a young age. After studying music at college, she embraced various performance styles, especially with live bands. 

For the past 7 years, she has been a professional singer, gaining extensive experience in venues across the UK.

Another Learn to Dance the Tango Course starts soon

The next Argentine Tango 4 Week Beginners Course is starting on Monday 17th February 2025 from 7.30pm to 9pm with a social tea and coffee after.

The classes will be held in All Saints Church Hall, Milford on Sea and taken by Tracey and Leonardo.

If you would like to get your dancing shoes on, it is £10pp for drop in's on the night, or you can book in advance and get the 4 weeks for £32.

Everyone welcome, no partner required. 

Enjoy learning this beautiful dance with Leonardo Acosta, an Argentinian from a Tango family who together with his partner Tracey, teach the authentic, improvised Argentine Tango as danced in Leo’s native Buenos Aires!

About Tango Fandango Academy

Tango Fandango is the perfect choice for anyone looking to learn Argentine Tango and have fun doing it. With Leo and Tracey's combined years of experience, you’ll receive excellent instruction from knowledgeable instructors who make learning fun for students of all ages.

Leo and Tracey teach the social, improvised Argentine Tango. They have their own teaching methodology which makes it fun to learn and understand the basics of Tango.

Leo is from Buenos Aires and from a Tango family so he has danced Tango since a young boy. Tracey has danced Tango for over 20 years but has been taught exclusively by Leo for the last 15 years.

They are one of the few teaching couples in the UK to be able to teach and dance all the styles of Argentine Tango: Canyengue / Orillero / Milonguero / Tango Salon / Nuevo and all the rhythms: Tango / Tango Vals / Tango Milonga / Tango Foxtrot.

Their methodology, is explained in their revised book 'The ABC of Argentine Tango', which is unique in the Tango community. It consists of 72 pages of technique and detailed explanation and costs £15 per copy plus postage.
