In August 2019, Melissa Page a village resident, qualified personal trainer and ex-lawyer who has a real passion for fitness, founded Walk for Wellness in Milford on Sea.
Melissa wanted to give something back to the community so she started free walking groups for anyone who would like to go along. The aim being for people to get some exercise and simultaneously have some social company.
Having led the group for many years, she is now looking to use her personal training skills to provide something different to help other people.
With the Free Walk for Wellness group now self-sufficient, the current members plan to carry on walking.
Fitness Support with Melissa
Melissa is now offering to help to anyone in Milford on Sea who would like some 'one to one' assistance with walking, jogging or even some light strength work.
If anyone needs some support towards fitness, or particular encouragement, she would be delighted to help.
She is also in contact with the Social Prescribing Facility at the Medical Centre in Milford on Sea, where they can refer anyone to Melissa for some individual fitness help.
Melissa has a real passion for fitness, and has completed four running marathons for charity and the 26 mile Oakhaven Walk three years running, last year, whilst on holiday, running on her own in the Arizona desert in temperatures of over 100 degrees, raising well over £2000 for the local hospice.
Melissa is happy to chat to anyone who thinks she may be able to help them, a family member, or a friend.
