Local Car Park Prices rising

At a meeting of the New Forest District Council on Monday 9th October 2023 it was agreed that car parking charges were to increase from January 2024.

Town and village car park charges will remain at £1 for the first hour, however, other tariffs will rise by £1.

Coastal car parks will have new tariffs. Short stay annual clocks will increase from £30 a year to £40.

New Parking Charges from January 2023:

Parking Clocks
  • Short stay annual clocks - £30 to £40
  • Long stay annual clocks - £140 to £220
  • Long stay quarterly clocks - £40 to £65
Town and village centre car parks (all year)
  • 1 hour - Current: £1/Proposed 2024: £1 (no increase)
  • 2 hours - Current: £2/Proposed 2024: £3
  • 3 hours - Current: £2.50/Proposed 2024: £3.50
  • 4 hours - Current: £3/Proposed 2024: £4
  • 5 hours - Current: £4/Proposed 2024: £5
  • 20 hours - Current: £5/Proposed 2024: £8
Winter (Oct-Mar) - higher amenity (coastal) car park tariffs
  • 1 hour - Current: £1/Proposed 2024: £1 (no increase)
  • 2 hours - Current: £2/Proposed 2024: £3
  • 4 hours - Current: £4/Proposed 2024: £5
  • 6 hours - Current: £6/Proposed 2024: £7
  • 20 hours - Current: £8/Proposed 2024: £11

Payment:

RingGo is a mobile phone service that lets you pay for your parking with a credit or debit card. It is a good alternative to using cash at a ticket machine.

Users of the service will pay a small convenience charge to RingGo. Currently this is 20p per parking session.
