2 Weeks to the Milford Music Festival: Time to Meet Some More Bands

Only two weeks to go until the very special Free weekend of the Milford on Sea Music Festival from Friday 21st to Sunday 23rd July 2023 on the village green.

The full line up and timings of the band performances are available in the Music Festival Programme which will be on sale on the village green this Saturday 8th July from 11am for just £3, and this will also be a chance to meet the festival organiser team. There might even be a surprise band playing!  

The programme, which is printed on sustainably sourced paper, will then be available in No64 Biscuit House, The Strawberry Gallery (Formerly Saltwater Cafe) and from others venues around the village.

Headline Act: John Illsley bass guitarist of the legendary and multi-award winning rock band, Dire Straits.

Plus, 19 talented local bands, singers & musicians across a multitude of genres performing for our free entertainment.

The Strange Blues Band

Featuring Milford on Sea musicians the band get your feet moving by playing blues, rock n roll, 1960/70s pop and blues rock and Americana.

Lady Winwood's Maggot

Since 1993 Lady Winwood's Maggot have travelled afar spreading their distorted gospel. A unique, anarchic sound regurgitating traditional transatlantic music, blended with their own material.

From dark tragic songs to the satirical and ridiculous interspersed with instrumentals. Incorporating Mandolin, Banjo, Guitar, Bass and Drums.

Clockwork Carousel

Jools Holland style running order and with fantastic musicians.

Murphys Lore


A mix of traditional Irish, English and Scots music plus a few tunes of their own. Tunes to dance to and songs to sing along with.

The Blues Machine

Heavy blues rock band to get the village green rocking! You will want to dance the night away with these guys.

HEADLINE ACT: John Illsley

Bass guitarist of the critically acclaimed band Dire Straits. Recipient of multiple BRIT and Grammy Awards and a Heritage Award. 

Dire Straits sold over 120 million albums and toured across the world. They were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2018.

Today, John has 8 solo albums to his credit and is also an accomplished artist.

The Milford on Sea Music Festival will also feature a well-stocked and well-staffed bar, a range of wonderful local food trucks, and all other facilities you’d expect from a professional festival, including attention paid to sustainability and disabled access.
