Michael will be showing his latest creation, a majestic life-size stag.

Since moving to Milford on Sea in 2014, painter Julie Collins has been inspired by the spectacular Hampshire Coastline. She works with water-based paints, building layers of intrigue into her work, each piece taking a long time to complete.

Palais des Vaches comprises of three inter-joining rooms that wrap around a beautiful courtyard garden featuring spectacular sculptures. The space has been lovingly transformed by Exbury Garden’s president Nick de Rothschild, and his wife, Caroline.

Starting with the magnificent milking parlour, affectionately named the ‘Cow Palace’, and built by Nick’s Grandfather, Lionel de Rothschild, a century ago, Nick and Caroline worked with a team of local builders, artisans, and crafts people to restore the buildings to “more than their former glory.”

The walls of the Palais now feature a collection of works by celebrated and lesser-known local artists, sculptors and ceramicists, along with a host of fantastic sculptures both inside and out. The venue is located at the end of a long gravel track, with magnificent views over the Beaulieu River to the Isle of Wight.

Caroline De Rothschild said: “The Palais Spring show aims to showcase a good collection of the weird and absurd alongside accessible affordable local works of art. So roll up, roll up - it’s going to be fab.”

The Spring Exhibition will be open:
  • March 25th and 26th from 11am to 4pm.
  • April 8th, 9th and 10th (Easter Weekend) from 11am to 4pm.
  • April 22nd and 23rd from 11am to 4pm.
  • April 29th and 30th from 11am to 4pm.
  • May 13th and 14th from 11am to 4pm.
  • June 24th from 11am to 4pm.
Palais des Vaches is located at Lower Exbury Farm, Inchmery Lane, Exbury, SO45 1AE.

During his formative years, his talent became apparent. He had an innate understanding and ability to capture the form and beauty of nature by creating bugs and insects, created simply from the most basic of materials including nuts, bolts and sheet metal found in his fathers’ garage.
