We have been contacted by a lady who is researching the life and work of the landscape
gardener, Madeline Agar.
Madeline was one of the first women professionals in this
field and was also a founder member of the Institute of Landscape Architects.
It is believed that her father Edward Agar, owned Milford House
and that the Agar family remained in the area after his death in 1927.
At one time Madeline is thought to have lived with her niece at
Thurston, Sea Road, Milford on sea.
