Hurst Point Lighthouse will be bathed in Purple Lighting for a good cause on the evening of Monday 18th May - and you have a chance to see the spectacle from Hurst Castle's Ferry, Solent Rose.
This special event is being held to support and recognise the Stroke Association.
Trinity House have given special approval, as a one off occasion, for Hurst Point Lighthouse to be bathed in Purple lighting for two hours starting at dusk.
To be able to see this special event and to more importantly, support the Stroke Association Charity, the large ferry, Solent Rose, will depart Keyhaven at 8.30pm on Monday 18th May and will cruise as close as possible to the Hurst Point Lighthouse and return to Keyhaven before 10pm. There is no need to book, just turn up on the night.
Onboard the cruise will be members of the Stroke Association Charity and some who have recently suffered a stroke, including in particular, Sean Crane. Sean is of course both well known and respected across the village having run Hurst Ferries and been the custodian of Hurst Castle for many years.
The cruise will be Free of Charge but during the cruise, a donation will be collected in aid of this important charity.
Should you not be able to attend this event but would still like to support the initiative behind this evening, then donations can be sent to:
Stroke Association Fundraising
3rd Floor, Roman Landing, 35-27 St Marys Place, Kingsway, Southampton, Hampshire. SO14 1AF
