Freedom to Learn hosting First Friday Lunch

Local Milford on Sea village charity, Freedom to Learn are hosting the First Friday Lunch at 1pm on Friday 7th July at The Bridge (Formerly the Community Centre).

The First Friday Lunch is open to all, so please just come along. Lunch is just £8, and there is no need to book.

This month's event is hosted by Freedom to Learn, a local charity supporting vulnerable children in Nepal to get an education. They will be serving vegetarian chilli for lunch and a yummy lemon drizzle cake for dessert. There will also be a raffle, film, stalls & a presentation by children from Milford on Sea Primary School.

All profits go towards the charity's work.

About Freedom to Learn

Freedom to Learn is a Milford on Sea based charity run by Joey Owen. The charity works to provide the opportunity of education to children from some of the remotest regions of the Himalayas and South Asia.

Freedom to Learn improves the quality of, and access to, education amongst remote communities in Nepal.

They do this by working with local children to overcome any obstacles that might prohibit them from attending school. For example, for children living in rural provinces, something as simple as a bicycle can change the course of their lives – offering them a viable way of travelling to and from school every day.

They also work with the schools themselves, to help them deliver the best possible standard of education – through teacher training, international school twinning and the provision of vital educational equipment.
