The promenade in front of the beach huts in Milford on Sea now has a safety barrier to prevent anyone falling over the previously exposed edge.
The level of the beach in this area is ever changing, and the shingle shifts on a regular basis creating a significant and potentially dangerous drop. At present the drop is not too dramatic, but this will change at any time.
When the beach is replenished by the import of truck loads of shingle, it does not take long for the tides to take the stones down the coast to Hurst Spit.
The current beach huts on Milford on Sea seafront were completed in May 2017, This was three years after the 80mph+ winds tore down the original beach huts in the infamous Valentine's Day Storm in 2014.
