Consultation now open on Manor Road Housing Development

Local housebuilder, Pennyfarthing Homes, have provided an update on plans for its Swallowfield Park housing development, which is north of Manor Road in Milford on Sea.

December 2024: Pennyfarthing Homes have recently explained that they are now preparing to submit the layout, design of housing and the landscaping for the site to the New Forest District Council (NFDC) in 2025.

They have said that development will deliver 170 new homes, including 85 affordable homes in a range of types and tenures, along with large areas of new public open space.

The plan on their 'feedback website' shows the area of the site for housing in brown, with landscaped areas of new public open space and greenspaces in green. Access for the development, will be from Manor Road.

Pennyfarthing Homes are now holding an online consultation.

To have your say, please visit:

The website will be open for feedback until Monday 6th January 2025.

History of the Manor Road Development - Swallowfield Park

In September 2023, around 300 residents attended a public meeting in The Bridge to discuss the proposed plans for 190 new homes on former greenbelt land near Milford Primary School. The plans for the Manor Road Development had been gathering pace since initially being announced in April 2022.

In November 2023, Pennyfarthing Homes reduced their Planning Application from 190 to 170 New Homes, Please click here to read more.

Last year, on the 4th December 2023, the Parish Council Planning Meeting included discussions on the amended planning application for 170 Homes for the Manor Road Housing Development, which is planned to be known as Swallowfield Park.

In February 2024, the subsequent New Forest District Council Planning Meeting resulted in disappointment for objectors when the planning was approved by the NFDC Planning Committee. The committee voted in favour of the Manor Road Development proposal with 6 votes to 4. Please click here to read more.

In March 2024, a petition was created by Milford Residents for Sustainable Developments which gained over 1000 signatures. Please click here to read more.

Ukrainian family settled in Keyhaven looking for accommodation

A friendly family of five from Lviv, who have been living with Chris and Jane Willard in Keyhaven for the past two and a half years, after being displaced due to the war in Ukraine, are now looking to set up their own home in Milford on Sea.

Thanks to this amazing support, they are acclimatised and settled in the UK, and are now looking to move on. They would love to hear from anyone who can help them to find a house or flat of their own to rent in Milford on Sea or nearby.

Mum, Iryna works at South Lawn Hotel and Dad, Andrii works at the fruit farm in East Boldre. Sophia is now 18 and she attends Peter Symonds College in Winchester and hopes to read Economics at University College London or Southampton University. Veronika is 15 and is at Priestlands School, and Andrii is 6 and he attends Milford on Sea Primary School.

A new home for this hard-working family will enable them to have independence, and continue their settlement in the UK after Chris and Jane's great generosity.

Chris and Jane are happy to provide excellent references for this uprooted and deserving family.

If anyone is able to help please contact Iryna and Andrii Kostiuk on gasminira@gmail.com or 07446 718709 - 07415 999501.
