Milford on Sea has reason to be proud as the Milford Bandage Brigade, meeting weekly at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, has now produced an incredible 25,000 improvised bandages for Ukraine.
These essential bandages, crafted for use on the head, shoulders, limbs, or torso, are sent monthly to stabilization and first aid points in Ukraine, alongside other medical supplies. The effort is coordinated through New Forest for Ukraine (NFFU).
Mandy Haynes, Lead Trustee for NFFU, praised the group’s efforts:
"This is a truly amazing effort by a small team led by Judith to support those injured in Ukraine. Our NGOs and the hospitals and medical facilities that receive these bandages are always so grateful that a village community 2,000 miles away cares enough to do this for them."
She added, "In Milford, you have an amazing community of very special people—we cannot thank Judith and her Milford Bandage Brigade enough for what they do."
